The Program's Mission

Badger Swim Club has been employing a three tiered structure (Learn, Love, Excel) for the majority of its 38 year existence: the 10 & under Junior team, the 11 & over Junior team and the National Team. Badger Swim Club is a developmental training program aimed at producing national caliber swimmers. Badger’s goal is to introduce young swimmers to swimming on a recreational and local level, introduce them to competitive swimming and training, and provide them with the opportunity to experience success on an intra-team and local level. The ultimate goal is for the swimmers to achieve national and international success.

The Badger Experience

The majority of Badger Swimmers begin their careers on The Badger Junior team. Badger Junior Team is part of the Badger Swim Club based in Larchmont and New Rochelle, New York. Badger Swim Club is the only USA Swimming Level IV club (a voluntary program that identifies and recognizes USA Swimming clubs for their commitment to excellence in operation, performance, and the support and development of USA Swimming) in Westchester County. There are only 33 such clubs in the country.

10 & Under Programs (LEARN)

The 10 & Under Badger Age Group Team has recently partnered with the USA Swimming Foundation's "Make a Splash" program. Our shared goal is to teach every child in America how to swim. The 10 & Under Programs (for swimmers ages three and up) swim out of Hommocks Pool in Larchmont and New Rochelle High School. With a renewed focus on water safety, learning proper stroke mechanics and fostering a love of the sport, Badger Swim Club and the Badger Swim School hope to create both successful lifelong and competitive swimmers.

The 11 & Over Program (LOVE)

The 11 & Over Badger Age Group Team is based out of the New Rochelle High School in New Rochelle and SUNY Purchase in Purchase, New York. The 11 & over Age Group Team program serves as a transition team further exposing the swimmers to competitive swimming. Most competitive swimmers completing this program have continued with Badger, swimming in High School and have been awarded college scholarships. The goals of these two age group programs are to foster a love of the sport within their swimmers.

Badger National Team (EXCEL)

As swimmers gain strength and confidence, they may be invited to move up to the Badger National Team. Swimmers that desire a recreational or high school commitment may be encouraged to remain on the 11 & over age group team. Swimmers that achieve at a national level, possess sufficient physical and mental strength and show promise and dedication have an opportunity to swim for the National Team. The goal of the National Team is for these swimmers to achieve national and international success.
